Seeing the Gaps in Practice
Chantelle is a board certified rheumatologist with training and experience in both the United States and Canada who is passionate about incorporating advancements in technology to streamline medical practices and enhance the patient experience.
During her rheumatology fellowship, Chantelle noticed how rare it was to track patients between visits and how difficult it was for patients to understand their symptoms and know which ones are relevant to their disease activity.
With an obvious enthusiasm for innovation and care, Chantelle was introduced to Stefan through an instructing rheumatologist, who is Stefan’s former physician. Having identified the same gaps in patient care and with a clear vision of how to mitigate them, Chantelle and Stefan formed Cadence Health Analytics.

Cadence Health Analytics was inspired by Co-Founder Stefan Gertz's experience with ankylosing spondylitis, a rare genetic form of arthritis that affects the spine. His grandfather suffered from this disease, which caused his spine to fuse and back to curve permanently.
At 12 years old, Stefan would be diagnosed with the same debilitating disease. Though there has been tremendous advancements in treatment, there is still no cure. He eventually found himself in a constant cycle of specialists, check ups, and medication trials.
Maintaining appointments proved to be an ongoing challenge, and any necessary adjustments in treatment plans were often met with delays.
